Frequently asked questions

FAQ
What is the relationship between Amazon Business and Amazon Global Selling?
Amazon Business is a recruitment program under Amazon Global Selling for sellers that can offer products for business purchasing. After you join Amazon Business, in addition to Global Selling services, you can also use a range of B2B features at no cost, giving you sales opportunities with both business buyers and individual consumers; the registration process is exactly the same for both, but we recommend that sellers assess whether their products, in addition to meeting individual consumer demand, also have attributes that meet "business purchasing needs". Typical product categories that are a good fit for Amazon Business include industrial products, office supplies and furniture, school supplies, commercial electronics products, hotel kitchen and dining equipment, and scientific research and medical supplies. If you don’t already have an Amazon seller account, you can click "Go to the Marketplace to Sell" below to contact us.
What are the benefits of becoming an Amazon Business seller?
Sellers who have enabled Amazon Business can use many free features, such as business pricing and quantity discounts for business purchases. There are also a range of Amazon Business-exclusive programs to help you win large-volume B2B orders, such as online quotes and bids. Eligible sellers can get the Business Seller badge on their product detail page and seller profile page. This badge can help sellers appear more easily in refined searches by Amazon Business buyers and increase product visibility among business buyers. For more details, search for the keyword "Business Seller Badge" in "Amazon Seller Central Help" page.
How do I enroll in Amazon Business?
If you’re a seller who has already registered a store, you can go directly to Account Info in Seller Central Settings, click the management page on the far left, and select the option below to register as a business seller. For details, you can also search for the keywords "Amazon Business" or "Amazon Business Store Seller Program" in the help page. If you need to register a new account to sell on Amazon, please click "Go to the Marketplace to Sell" below to contact us.
Can individual sellers apply for Amazon Business?
We only offer Amazon Business services to Amazon professional seller accounts. Because Amazon Business serves high-quality business and institutional buyers, including Fortune Global 500 companies, government agencies, medical institutions, and educational institutions, which have high requirements for products and services, click "Go to Marketplace to Sell" below to contact us for more information about the program.
For existing sellers, what is the relationship between the B2B and B2C on the same Marketplace?
Enabling Amazon Business gives sellers sales opportunities for both B2B and B2C customers, while also providing a range of free B2B features to help increase sales to business and institutional buyers. For more details, search for the keywords "Amazon Business" or "Amazon Business Marketplace Seller Program" in Seller Central Help.
Are there any qualification requirements to enroll in Amazon Business on the Japan Marketplace?
We invite qualified factories, brand owners, or large traders to join Amazon Business Japan. If you plan to sell electrically-powered products, please make sure they have passed Japan's "PSE" certification; food, tableware, and some cooking tools must pass "Article 370 of the Japanese Food Sanitation Act." For more requirements, please contact Amazon Seller Support or your account manager after you go live.
How should Amazon cross-border sellers respond to the new 2023 Japanese Consumption Tax (JCT) invoice regulations?
Effective October 1, 2023, the Qualified Invoice Retention System (Japanese) for Japanese Consumption Tax (hereinafter referred to as "JCT") will officially take effect. The Qualified Invoice Retention System allows business buyers to claim consumption tax credits. After the system takes effect, Japanese business buyers will be unable to claim a consumption tax credit if their invoice does not contain the seller's valid Japanese Consumption Tax registration number ("JCT registration number").
For sellers, the impacts and key considerations to be aware of are:
You can use these 4 key points to quickly determine whether you need to register for a JCT number:
1. Key dates: You need to pay attention to the timing of the "new policy launch" and "Amazon's official verification start date"
2. Impact of the new policy: Why should sellers who are not required to do so also consider registering for a JCT number?
3. Is the seller obligated?
4. Learn about the benefits of registering for JCT (including sellers who are required to register and those who are not but are still considering registration)
