The product detail page or listing
The first step to getting sales is the listing
Show product information from every angle to drive traffic and convert sales

Learning how to create a product detail page (listing) is the first step to selling on Amazon, and the quality of the listing greatly affects the page’s conversion rate. If you want to become a top performer in cross-border selling and drive traffic efficiently to create bestselling products, getting from 0 to 1 with building your listing is especially important.
What is a listing?
A listing is the product detail page. After each product is successfully uploaded, a separate listing page is generated. For Amazon sellers, listings are the most direct way to present products and the most effective way for customers to learn about products. Listings consist of eight basic elements: browse nodes, keywords, images, title, bullet points, product description, A+ content and Premium A+ content, and brand name, as well as other elements. A high-quality listing can help you increase sales.

The importance of listings
Listings are detailed descriptions of a product and are the first step in cross-border selling. Customers can’t touch the product, so all product information can only be displayed on the listing. A good listing is a key factor determining whether customers will end up buying a product. An incomplete or incorrect listing may make it difficult for customers to find your product, thereby potentially hindering your sales
Next, we’ll guide you through the purchase decision process to understand how a high-quality listing can improve its click-through rate and drive conversion.

Preparation before uploading listing
Prepare before you create a listing. After registering as a seller, initial preparation includes four steps: product compliance, product ID, brand names, and images and copy. Once everything is ready, you can upload your listing and begin the first stage of selling on Amazon.

Product compliance preparation
Customer safety is paramount to Amazon. Amazon's goal is to ensure that customers can buy products with confidence without worrying about the safety, quality, or reliability of the products. As a seller, it's important to understand Amazon's guidelines on restricted products, shipping and storage of dangerous goods, and product safety and compliance.

Product ID preparation
For most categories, you'll need to provide a unique product identifier called a Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) to create a new listing. If the seller’s product does not have a product ID and there is no matching existing product in the Amazon catalog, the seller needs to apply for a GTIN exemption to create a listing.

Brand name preparation
Amazon considers a brand to be a name that represents a product or set of products. Products from the same brand share a common name, logo, or other identifying mark that appears on the product or its packaging and are distinguished from similar products that do not belong to that brand.

Image and copy preparation
Amazon has very detailed format and content requirements for listing images and copy. Formatting errors or content that exceeds the limits may result in the listing not being displayed, not appearing in search results, or even being suspended. Sellers must prepare images and copy in accordance with Amazon’s official requirements and guidelines.
How to upload a listing?
Once everything is ready, you can start uploading your listing. For different use cases, you can choose to upload listings either one-by-one or in bulk.

One-by-one
Two use cases for uploading one-by-one:
When the product matches an existing product (selling an existing listing)
When creating a new listing

In bulk
Customized templates for each product type, ideal for adding multiple products at once and listing more than 100 products.
Copy your listing to other Amazon marketplaces
To help sellers more quickly and easily translate and sync a listing from one marketplace to other Amazon marketplaces, Amazon provides the “List on One, Sell Globally” and “Build International Listings” tools. You only need to list a product once to sell it in multiple Amazon marketplaces, helping you grow your global business while only investing the time needed for operations in one region. FAQs
What do I need to prepare before uploading a listing?
You need to prepare written product standardization certification required by the destination country to ensure product compliance. You also need to know whether your product category requires classification review. You can find information on the help page in Seller Central and in Seller Encyclopedia about ① restricted products, ② ASIN creation policy, and ③ style/category guidelines.
Where can I find courses about listings?
Go to Seller Central and search for listing in Seller Encyclopedia to find courses.
I don’t speak a foreign language, so what should I do if I want to launch in a marketplace that uses a foreign language?
Don’t worry, Amazon provides “List on One, Sell Globally (LOSG)” to help translate a listing from one marketplace and sync it to other Amazon marketplaces. It helps sellers expand their business globally with about the same investment as operating in a single marketplace, helping them avoid the tedious process of repeatedly uploading listings across multiple marketplaces.
What should I enter in the brand field if my listing doesn’t have a brand?
Entering generic is the most compliant option for generic products. If you leave it blank or enter a random brand, this will lead to compliance issues down the road.
How can I tell whether my listing is well written?
One way to tell whether a listing is good is by its completeness. We recommend that beginner sellers make improving listing completeness their first small goal.
What should I do if I run into problems I can’t resolve, such as my listing not appearing in search results or being maliciously altered?
If you run into this kind of issue, please go to Seller Central—Seller help right away to get help resolving it. Keep an eye on your inbox of your registered email address to see whether you’ve received an official help email.
