Amazon Smart Satellite Warehouse (AWD) is a warehousing and distribution service where sellers can use Amazon Global Logistics (AGL) or a third-party carrier to transport goods to an AWD warehouse. Amazon will schedule replenishment from the AWD warehouse to the fulfillment center based on sales forecasts. Suitable for US sellers.

Amazon smart satellite warehouse operation mechanism
*You can use any first-haul logistics carrier to ship to AWD warehouses, and you can enjoy discounts using AGL and PCP.
Once the seller has sent the shipment to AWD through First Haul Logistics, you can distribute your inventory through the following two channels:
Replenish to Amazon Fulfilment Center (FBA)
Replenish goods to Amazon fulfillment centers through AWD automatic or manual replenishment. When sellers choose to automatically restock, Amazon will use a series of algorithms to seamlessly integrate with Amazon Logistics to automatically restock inventory to FBA for sellers.
Distribution to Other Sales Channels (MCD)
Multi-Channel Distribution (MCD) helps sellers ship products in bulk from Amazon Inbound Distribution Centers (AWD) to other online and physical sales channels, meaning that sellers can use a unified inventory to replenish all of their sales and distribution channels rather than just to Amazon fulfillment centers.

Amazon monitors inventory levels for each seller ASIN in fulfillment centers

Amazon triggers automatic replenishment when ASIN inventory levels (including in-stock inventory and in-transit inventory) fall below optimal levels

ASIN Criteria
✅ Supported ASINs: Each side of the product must not exceed 25 inches in length and weigh no more than 49 pounds
❌ Unsupported ASINs: high-value products (such as jewelry and watches), products that are over 25 inches or weigh more than 50 pounds on any side, meltable products, refrigerated products, dangerous goods

The type of shipment
● Currently, only the US is accepted as the destination country

Does AWD charge additional long-term storage fees?
AWD does not charge long-term storage fees, but when sellers are manually overstocked by AWD to Amazon fulfillment centers, overdue inventory stored in Amazon fulfillment centers will be charged in accordance with Amazon Logistics's overage inventory surcharge policy.
What should AWD do if the item is lost or damaged?
For lost or damaged goods, the AWD treatment method is the same as that of the fulfillment center. Sellers can contact the Seller Support team to handle related cases.
What warehouses does AWD have now?
AWD has two warehouses, one in the East of the US and the West of the US.

How does Amazon AWD affect IPI scores?
The IPI score depends on how much “redundant” inventory is there and how long that inventory has been in the FBA fulfillment center. The seller's IPI will not be affected by how long the inventory stays in AWD and will only be affected once the inventory is transferred to an FBA fulfillment center.
For Amazon AWD sellers who have enabled the auto-replenishment feature, the auto-replenishment logic will ensure timely replenishment and maintain optimal inventory levels during operations. Also, for sellers with entry restrictions, using AWD automatic replenishment will help lift entry restrictions. AWD will therefore be able to help improve these sellers' IPI scores.
