Frequently Asked Questions

Account Registration
I already have a selling account on another Amazon Marketplace. Can I use my existing account to sell in the Middle East Marketplace?
Yes. In Amazon Seller Central, select “Global Selling” from the “Inventory” drop-down menu, select “Middle East and North Africa,” and create seller accounts for UAE and Saudi Arabia.
Is it difficult to start selling in Middle East Marketplace? What do you need to prepare?
Amazon welcomes high-quality sellers from China who are interested in entering the Middle East Marketplace, and we will also help you explore business opportunities in the Middle East. The preparations needed to sell in the Middle East Marketplace are similar to those for other marketplaces, mainly including the company qualifications, credit card, and payment account needed to register an account, as well as arranging a logistics carrier in advance. Of course, we also recommend that sellers do some research in advance on the Middle East consumer market and policy environment before they start selling there, and we will also provide helpful information in various areas for sellers to use as a reference. In addition, we recommend that sellers who have successful operating experience in other Amazon marketplaces, or sellers who are already selling in the Middle East, join the Middle East Marketplace. These two types of sellers are more likely to succeed in the Middle East Marketplace.
What information do I need to provide to register an account on the Amazon Middle East Marketplace?
You need an international credit card that can be charged in the US Dollar to register, and you need to provide ID card so Amazon can verify your identity.
Before you begin registration, make sure you have the following information:
▪ Your storefront name (this name will be displayed on the Product Details page)
▪ Your credit card number and expiration date
▪ The company name on your business license
▪ The registered address on your business license

Middle East Marketplace VAT Compliance Policy
Why do I need to register a VAT number in UAE/Saudi Arabia?
According to the requirements of the UAE/Saudi Arabia tax authorities and local VAT laws, if you are not a UAE/Saudi Arabia resident but sell products to local residents in the UAE/Saudi Arabia through the FBA service, you are required to register for a local VAT number within 30 days of your first FBA sale. Once the tax authorities have issued you a VAT number, you will need to upload your Tax ID Number to Seller Central as soon as possible. If you trigger VAT obligations but do not register and upload a valid Tax ID Number, this could result in fines and Account deactivation.
How do I register a VAT number in the UAE/Saudi Arabia?
UAE: You can register on the official website of the tax authority by yourself (see the self-Registration Guide), or contact a tax advisor to help you register.
Saudi Arabia: Because the registration process for a Saudi Arabia VAT number is complex (it is required to fill out forms in Arabic and use a local Saudi mobile phone number to receive a verification code), we recommend that you contact a tax advisor to help you register and achieve tax compliance more quickly.
How can I contact a tax advisor to get help on UAE/Saudi Arabia VAT?
Please refer to the following list of service providers in the Amazon Service Provider Network:
UAE
Saudi Arabia
Favorable Price link (including a QR code and optionally the WeChat account of the service provider)
Please note that Amazon does not provide tax advice, but provides the list of service providers for reference only. You can also work with tax advisors outside the Amazon Service Provider List. If you decide to work with a service provider listed on this page, please contact that service provider directly. Amazon does not endorse any service provider or any of their services.
My UAE/Saudi Arabia Tax ID Number has been issued, where do I upload it?
Please log in to Seller Central → click [Settings] → click [Tax Settings] → click [Add VAT/GST Registration Number].
Note: Please select the correct country/region, such as the UAE or Saudi Arabia, otherwise the tax ID number will be rejected.
Account information and storefront settings
Do I have to have UAE and Saudi VAT numbers to operate the Middle East Marketplace?
Under the laws of the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, if you are not a resident of the United Arab Emirates or Saudi Arabia and sell products to customers in the United Arab Emirates or Saudi Arabia through Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA), you must start registering for VAT within 30 days after completing your first transaction, regardless of your sales revenue. Amazon also provides some information on the Seller Central Help page for sellers to reference, but it is important to emphasize that tax compliance is an obligation sellers must fulfill themselves, so we recommend that sellers consult a professional tax advisor before making decisions. The Merchant Fulfillment Network (MFN) business model does not require VAT registration.
Is it possible to receive payments in US Dollar in the Middle East Marketplace? What payment tools do you recommend? How long does it usually take to receive the payment?
The payment method is the same as on other marketplaces. We support receiving payments in multiple foreign currencies, including US Dollar, and we also support qualified third-party payment service providers. The payment period is about 14 days.

What is a UPC/EAN code?
The UPC/EAN codes are 12-digit and 13-digit product IDs, respectively. They are a set of one-to-one codes, and the same code cannot be used to tie to different products separately. The UPC/EAN codes are shared across Amazon Marketplaces in different countries/regions and are tied to a specific product. Once a UPC/EAN code has been used on one country/region’s Amazon Marketplace for a product, you cannot use the same UPC/EAN code on another country/region’s Amazon Marketplace for a different product. Note: Be sure to buy UPC/EAN through official channels.
Can I sync Listing from the US Marketplace to the Middle East Marketplace?
Yes. With “Build International Listings,” you can sync eligible ASINs from the US Marketplace to the Middle East Marketplace in just five steps.
