We are closely monitoring the development of the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on consumers, sellers, and employees around the world.
Based on the March 17 announcement, we continue to focus our current capabilities on the highest-priority products consumers currently need, while following relevant guidelines to avoid close contact in operation centers to ensure the safety and health of employees. The following changes have been made to Amazon's US (FBA) product entry policy:
The priority processing policy for essential products will continue to apply after April 5, while we are adding more products to the essential items list.
Due to limited warehouse capacity, we will be adding products one by one. We've updated the “Replenish Inventory” page and the “Replenishment Report” page in Seller Central so you can see which products are eligible to create a delivery. We consider a number of factors when determining whether we can ship to Amazon fulfillment centers, including whether the product is in high demand by consumers, current inventory levels and in-transit inventory, fulfillment center inventory, and our ability to comply with the latest health guidelines.
You can find answers to common questions on Seller Central's help pages. Please be aware that the Seller Support team has no further guidance. All Amazon employees are working hard to resume normal operations, and thank you very much for your patience and understanding.
Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
1. What products can I send to Fulfilment by Amazon?
For the time being, we are giving priority to receiving necessities of life, medical supplies, and other high-demand products into the warehouse. When determining which products can be shipped to Amazon fulfillment centers, we consider a variety of factors, including: products that consumers need most, current inventory levels and in-transit inventory, fulfillment center inventory, and our compliance with health guidelines issued by the health department at the fulfillment center.
2. Will Amazon fulfillment centers resume normal operations on April 5, 2020?
As the impact of the novel coronavirus continues to change, we are unable to determine an exact date for full resumption of operations. However, whenever possible, we will allow more products to be received while ensuring that our fulfillment centers are able to handle higher priority items.
3. How often are the product listings on the “Replenish Inventory” page updated? When should I check back?
We will update this list regularly. We recommend that you review the page or list to restock according to your company's review cycle.
4. Does Amazon do something similar for proprietary products?
Yes.
5. What if I have a shipment already in transit?
The system will receive the completed shipment.
6. I think my products are necessities and/or medical supplies, but I am unable to ship them to the fulfillment center. What should I do?
We will determine whether the product is a daily necessity and/or medical supply based on the product information. Currently, we are not accepting requests to reclassify products.
7. Can I continue to sell products that are not daily necessities or medical supplies through seller-self-delivery channels?
Yes.
8. What happens if my Inventory Performance Index (IPI) score drops as a result?
We'll fully consider the impact this change may have on your inventory performance index scores and next quarter's storage limit limits, and develop appropriate countermeasures.
