The peak season has arrived at the end of the year, and I believe many sellers are preparing for the final sprint. To help sellers receive their shipments more quickly at Amazon's fulfillment centers, Amazon has updated its policies on carrier and tracking information to provide you with a better shipment acceptance service.
🚩 Please note that sellers using Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) on Amazon's US and European sites:
You will need to provide Amazon with the name of the carrier and tracking information for the process of shipping the product to the Amazon fulfillment center before the fulfillment center receives your shipment.
You can check the applicable sites and effective times through the table below 👇
👉 For shipments to Amazon fulfillment centers using a third party carrier:
Amazon measures your tracking defect rate based on the lack of tracking information for each of your shipments. In the future, this metric will likely impact your ability to create new shipments.
👉 For shipments to Amazon fulfillment centers using Amazon's Cross Border Logistics Service (AGL) or Amazon Partnered Carrier Program:
You don't need to worry about this policy update because Amazon will generate relevant tracking information for you.
For sellers shipping to Amazon fulfillment centers through a third party carrier, providing Amazon with carrier and tracking information helps you:
▼ Increase the speed of receiving shipments and improve delivery/replenishment efficiency
The correct carrier name and tracking information can help your shipment be effectively tracked, your products can be received more efficiently by Amazon fulfillment centers, avoid delays in the receiving process, and greatly improve the efficiency of your delivery/replenishment.
▼ Out-of-stock products with tracking information can be listed for sale
If your products are out of stock, but as long as the inventory pre-sale feature is enabled, Amazon will adjust the products in your transit to sellable status based on real-time tracking information.

Sellers involved in this policy are required to review and process defect information regularly after the policy takes effect: promptly provide the carrier name and tracking information.
💡 How to provide the carrier name and tracking information
On the “Inventory” option in Seller Central, click “Manage Amazon Inventory” to go to the Amazon Inventory page, click “Shipment Processing Progress”, then click “Track Shipment” next to the shipment. On the “Shipment Summary” page, go to the “Track Shipments” tab and enter the carrier information and tracking number.
🚩 Please note:
▲For package shipments, a tracking number is required for each box.
▲For LTL and full-vehicle shipments, each shipment must provide a Progressive Freight Number (PRO).

💡 How to view and process defect information
You can view your current defect information in the “Issues” tab on the “Shipment Summary” page in Seller Central by following the steps above.
Currently, only defect information is displayed. In the future, you may need to confirm each defect before creating a new shipment.
If your defect guidance level is “High,” Amazon may contact you for one-on-one seller guidance; if your defect guidance level is “Critical,” Amazon may limit you from creating new shipments to Amazon within 24 to 72 hours.
You can upload your own carrier name and tracking information, but if you have too many shipping/restocking items, need to provide a lot of carrier names and tracking information, or if the carrier returns tracking information in an uncertain time and is worried that you won't be able to update it in a timely manner, you can also choose to use Amazon Cross-Border Logistics Service (AGL) or Amazon Partnered Carrier Program. Amazon will generate tracking information for sellers using these two services to guarantee the defect rate of your tracking information.
◉ Amazon Cross-border Logistics Service (AGL)
Amazon Cross-border Logistics Service (AGL) is a stable, efficient, and convenient cross-border sea and air logistics service provided by Amazon to sellers. Sellers can deliver shipments to Amazon. Amazon Cross-border Logistics Service (AGL) will provide you with a one-stop service from domestic transportation, export customs clearance, sea and air transportation, and customs clearance operations at the port of destination to the Amazon fulfillment center. Currently, the service includes sites in the US, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and Japan.
If you are a seller on the above sites and are already using or considering using Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA), you can click the button below and fill in the information, and Amazon will help you activate the Amazon Cross-border Logistics (AGL) service on Seller Central within about 3-5 business days.

Amazon Partnered Carriers are a range of third-party carriers that work with Amazon to meet your delivery needs to Amazon's fulfillment centers and help you generate tracking information that meets Amazon's requirements. You can use the Amazon Partnered Carrier Program by following these steps:
▪ Step 1: Select Amazon or a partnered carrier in the standardized shipment creation process
▪ Step 2: After entering the delivery details, you will see the estimated shipping fee, click “Accept Charges”
▪ Step 3: Once the shipment is ready, please contact your carrier to arrange pickup or you can send the package to the carrier's local pickup center
*We recommend that you carefully read the terms and conditions of the Amazon Inbound Shipping Service (if using Amazon DHL managed services), or the Amazon Partnered Carrier Terms and Conditions and Carrier Terms and Conditions (if using UPS) (if applicable) before accepting shipping charges.

❓ Q1: If my carrier isn't listed in Seller Central, how do I enter the carrier?
When you're ready to ship your inventory and don't see your carrier in the drop-down menu, select Other. Amazon will gradually add more carriers.
❓ Q2: Can I edit the tracking information?
You can edit shipment tracking information up until the shipment is delivered.
❓ Q3: For international shipments, my freight forwarder will only provide tracking information once the shipment has reached the final destination country (for example, my shipment was shipped from China and reached the receiving country 40 days after delivery). Is that too late?
No, they don't. As long as your carrier has shared the tracking information for that shipment with you before your inventory is delivered to the fulfillment center, you can enter it as soon as possible.
❓ Q4: For Chinese sellers, shipments from China to the US or Europe may have multiple tracking information. Which tracking information does the seller need to provide?
You only need to provide the last piece of tracking information for delivery to an Amazon fulfillment center. If you ship from China to the US and then from within the US to the Amazon fulfillment center in the US, you only need to provide tracking information for delivery within the US to the US Amazon center.
