Attention, new sellers: Amazon has prepared an amazing Starter Pack for you!The program launched on the United States marketplace, United Kingdom marketplace, France marketplace, Germany marketplace, Italy marketplace, Spain marketplace, and Japan marketplace on 03/01/2022 (PST), providing new sellers with more than $50,000 in real savings!
So what are the eligibility requirements to receive the Starter Pack for beginner sellers?
👉 Applicable marketplaces
United States, Japan, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain marketplaces on Amazon.
👉Seller eligibility requirements
① Professional seller;
② The key to identifying new sellers: publish your first ASIN available for purchase on or after January 1, 2022.
How is the “available for purchase” date defined?For example, although Seller A listed their first FBA ASIN in 2021, the product was not received into inventory and made available for sale until February 1, 2022, so February 1, 2022 is the date when the first ASIN was made available for purchase, which also meets the definition of a new seller.
Sellers who meet the above conditions can complete the following three task paths to receive the corresponding benefits.
Attention!As long as you have not yet sold any ASINs on any one of the three major marketplaces—the United States, Japan, and Europe marketplace—you can be considered a new seller in that marketplace and receive the Starter Pack benefits once. A new seller can receive the full Starter Pack benefits up to 3 times, and eligible Rights Owners can receive up to $150,000 back!(For details, see item 2 under “FAQ > Golden 90-day guide eligibility” below)
A wide range of new seller benefits helps new sellers try many Amazon products and supports their store growth!New sellers can receive the corresponding rewards by successfully completing each task~ So!Let’s do this together!
This article is long, so we’ve provided a comprehensive guide to the Starter Pack. It also includes 22 questions and 22 answers at the end, covering hot topics sellers care about, such as eligibility requirements, brand requirements, and how to redeem benefits. Be sure to bookmark it first!
To help new sellers better understand, we’ll present the benefits and eligibility requirements of the Starter Pack through a series of “tasks.” Successfully completing each task will earn you the corresponding reward~
👉 Complete the task
🚩Complete Amazon Brand Registry within 6 months after your first ASIN becomes available for purchase.
🚩 If you’re a brand seller* or want to build a brand, the Starter Pack for beginner sellers will help reduce the startup costs of your new brand!Sellers need to complete Brand Registry within 6 months after listing their first ASIN available for purchase. This not only unlocks a range of exclusive brand-building and brand protection tools for brand owners, but also gives them the following milestone rewards!
*Note: You must be the brand owner or their internal personnel.
👉 Completion rewards
🚩For the first $1 million in branded product sales or the first year, whichever comes first, we’ll provide a 5% rebate on sales, paid monthly, up to $50,000, which will be directly deducted from next month’s Referral Fee!
🚩$200 Amazon Vine discount. The Vine program is an effective way for branded products to quickly gain high-quality reviews during the initial launch stage, helping increase traffic and conversion rates; the discount can be used to pay the fees for participating in the Vine program.
🚩$100 Transparency discount. Transparency (Transparency Program) can help brands block counterfeit listings, strengthen after-sales service and buyer engagement, identify supply chain defects, and protect sales and brand presence; the discount can be used to offset program fees.
*Note: After completing Brand Registry, the trademark must have passed the publication period (that is, have an ® registration mark) to be eligible to join Transparency.

👉 Task
🚩Ship the product to an Amazon fulfillment center within 12 months after the first purchasable ASIN goes live.
🚩 This task requires new sellers to use Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) and send products to Amazon fulfillment centers within 12 months after launching their first ASIN available for purchase. Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) means that sellers send products in bulk to Amazon fulfillment centers, and Amazon helps sellers store, pick, pack, and deliver orders, while also providing services such as buyer support and returns, helping you save significant labor, material, and financial resources.
👉 Onboarding rewards
🚩Sellers can get a discount on inbound shipping: $100 off Amazon Partnered Carrier program fees, or $200 off Amazon fulfillment center fulfillment fees.
🚩 Eligible sellers will be automatically enrolled in the FBA New Selection program, with five benefits covering the full operating lifecycle.
For more details about the FBA New Selection program, click here 👉Test new products, and Amazon pays!5% sales rebate!No storage, removal, or bulk liquidation fees...
👉 Completion task
🚩 New sellers create an always-on campaign for Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) ASINs.
🚩 Sponsored Products can help you promote products sold on Amazon, accurately reach target customers, and increase product visibility!
👉 Completion rewards
🚩Sellers can receive a total of $200 in Amazon Sponsored Products ad coupons. When a seller sets up an always-on campaign for a Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) ASIN, they will receive the first $100 coupon; when the Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) ASIN promotion period reaches 30 days, the seller will receive the second $100 coupon.
👉 Milestone tasks
🚩Register and publish Amazon coupons within 12 months after your first purchasable ASIN goes live.
🚩 Within 12 months after the seller launches their first ASIN available for purchase, they must register for Amazon Coupons and publish them. Amazon coupons are a common promotional tool for all sellers, with a relatively low setup threshold, and can efficiently and accurately reach target customer groups, increasing the likelihood of products being discovered.
👉 Completion reward
🚩 Sellers can enjoy a $50 discount on Amazon coupon fees.
Congratulations to all our new sellers for completing all the tasks and successfully earning all the rewards in the “Starter Pack”!
Since Starter Pack launched, it has received widespread attention from sellers. Through channels such as the WeChat backend, live-streaming platforms, and seller surveys, we received many questions that sellers care deeply about.
Today, we’ve compiled some common questions from sellers and provided authoritative answers all at once!
❓ Q1: I listed an ASIN in the United States marketplace in 2021, but it didn’t arrive and start selling until 2022. Am I considered a new seller?
First, you need to be a Professional seller!
Key criterion for identifying new sellers: if your first purchasable ASIN was listed on or after 01/01/2022, how is the “available for purchase” date defined? For example, although a seller listed their first FBA ASIN in 2021, if the product was not received into inventory and made available for sale until February 1, 2022, then February 1, 2022 is the date the first ASIN available for purchase was listed, which also meets the definition of a new seller.
❓ Q2: If I open the United States marketplace, Japan marketplace, and Europe marketplace now, how many times can I receive the benefits?
The marketplaces where you can launch new ASINs are limited to these: United States marketplace, Japan marketplace, United Kingdom marketplace, Germany marketplace, France marketplace, Italy marketplace, and Spain marketplace.
Attention!The United States marketplace, Japan marketplace, and the five Europe marketplaces are independent of one another. As long as you have not sold any ASINs in any of the US, JP, or EU regions, you can be considered a new seller in that region and receive the benefits of one Starter Pack for new sellers. A new seller can receive the full Starter Pack for new sellers up to 3 times, and eligible Rights Owners can earn rebates of up to $150,000!
❓ Q3: Can only brand owners/FBA sellers get the benefits in the Starter Pack?
Three task tracks in the Starter Pack are independent of each other. If you meet the requirements for all three tracks, you can receive all three benefits:
▲Eligible brand owners can receive a rebate of 5% of brand sales (up to $50,000), as well as discounts on the Vine and Transparency programs;
▲Sellers who join Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) can receive up to $200 in Fulfillment by Amazon inbound cost discounts and become eligible for a $200 Sponsored Products coupon by creating ad campaigns;
▲Eligible sellers who use coupons can receive a $50 discount on coupon fees.
But!Children make choices; adults, of course, want it all!Sellers can qualify by completing all three tasks at the same time: enrolling in Brand Registry, joining FBA, and using the offer.
❓ Q4: I completed my brand registration in 2021, but I only launched my first ASIN in 2022. Can I qualify?
The completion date for Amazon Brand Registry can be earlier than the date your store first lists a purchasable ASIN, but it can be no later than 6 months after your first purchasable ASIN goes live.
❓ Q5: Does my brand need to be completely new?I completed Brand Registry in 2021 and authorized it for other marketplaces in 2022. Is that okay?
Brand-newness requirement: to be eligible to receive rewards in a specific region, your brand must not have sold products on Amazon in that region (United States marketplace/Europe marketplace’s five major sites/Japan marketplace) before 01/01/2022.
▲For example
Q: I completed Brand Registry on Amazon’s United States marketplace in 2021, and then completed Brand Registry on the Japan marketplace through brand authorization in 2022. Can I receive Brand Registry benefits on the Japan marketplace?
A: If the brand had not sold on Amazon Japan before January 1, 2022, and the applicant is the brand owner or their internal personnel and completed brand registration in Japan through brand authorization, they are also eligible.
❓ Q6: One brand sold across multiple accounts: I have multiple accounts that started selling products of the same brand this year. Can each account enjoy the promotion?
A brand can use the offer only once in one selling account in one region (United States marketplace/Europe marketplace’s five major sites/Japan marketplace), based on whichever selling account qualifies first.
For example, if Selling partner A first qualified for the discount in the United States marketplace and then authorized the brand to selling partners B and C, the seller accounts of B and C can no longer receive the discount.
❓ Q7: selling multiple brands from one account: if I sell multiple brands through my seller account, can I get multiple 5% rewards for multiple brands?
Yes, as long as the seller is confirmed as the brand owner of these brands and sells products from these brands through their seller account, the seller can earn a 5% bonus for these brands.
After eligibility is determined, brand sales can receive this rebate for one year. If, during that year, cumulative eligible brand sales (that is, the total sales across multiple brands) reach $1 million, the rebate ends; that is, you can receive up to $50,000 back.
❓ Q8: For brand owners, which sales are eligible for a 5% rebate?How is the start of the 1-year eligibility period defined?
▲First, your seller account must be confirmed by Amazon as the brand owner of the products sold in question. Once eligibility has been determined, sales of this brand generated within your seller account are eligible for this reward for 12 months;
▲If eligible brand sales reach a cumulative total of $1 million within these 12 months, the reward will end, meaning you can receive up to $50,000 in rewards.
▲This 12-month eligibility period begins when you list your first purchasable ASIN, or when you enroll in the “Amazon Brand Registry” program and are recognized by Amazon US as the brand owner, whichever is later.
▲Although this incentive cannot be combined with other benefits offered by Amazon (including 5% brand sales under the FBA New Selection program), we will always provide you with the benefit that is more favorable to you.
*Note: The earliest date brand sales start accruing is March 1, 2022.
❓ Q9: I completed Amazon Brand Registry with a TM mark (Pending Trademark). Can I still enjoy the offer?
Yes.
▲What’s consistently emphasized in the benefit eligibility requirements is “complete Amazon Brand Registry”; both TM and R trademarks can be used to complete Amazon Brand Registry, regardless of trademark status. Therefore, for sellers who do not yet have a trademark, we recommend applying for one as soon as possible!Once you have received the trademark application receipt (that is, the TM mark), you can complete Amazon Brand Registry.
▲After the brand owner completes Amazon Brand Registry using a TM trademark, they will gain access to use the Amazon Vine program;
▲Only after the TM mark becomes an R mark (without the brand needing to complete Brand Registry again) can you get access to use the Transparency program. The $100 Transparency program discount offered as part of this benefit is not valid starting from when brand registration is completed; it is valid for one year starting after joining the Transparency program.
▲Only brand owners or their internal personnel who have completed Amazon Brand Registry are eligible for benefits. For an explanation of “brand owner or their internal personnel,” please see the next question!
❓ Q10: What does “brand owner or their internal staff” mean?Where can I check whether I’m eligible?Can I apply?
Brand owner or their internal personnel: a brand owner is easy to understand, meaning the owner of the brand/trademark. Generally speaking, if the brand belongs to a company and you are an employee of that company, you are considered an internal person.
▲For example
If you are an employee of Company A and are responsible for operating Company A’s Amazon United States marketplace store, and your boss asks you to use the company’s brand to complete Amazon Brand Registry, and the materials you submit during the brand registration process can indeed prove that there is an internal relationship between the brand and the company whose store you operate, then your store may meet this requirement.
*Note: Dealers, distributors, and other agents are not considered brand owners.
▲How do I check if I'm the brand owner?
① United States marketplace sellers: log in to Seller Central and go to the “Brand Benefits Eligibility” page to check.
Click this link to view.
In the “Identified as brand owner” column, if “Yes” is displayed, then you are the brand owner. If “No” is displayed and you believe you are indeed an internal brand representative, you can click “Confirm identity as brand owner” and follow the instructions to apply.
② Sellers on other Amazon sites:
The Brand Promotion Eligibility page is currently available only to sellers in the United States marketplace. For sellers in other marketplaces, if you have permission to use tools that are available only to brand owners, such as Amazon Brand Analytics (Seller Central → Brand → Amazon Brand Analytics) and Vine (Seller Central → Advertising → Vine), then generally, you are the brand owner or internal personnel of the brand.
▲I’m clearly the brand owner, but I haven’t been granted the relevant permissions. How can I resolve this?
① Already have a seller account but haven’t started Amazon Brand Registry:
Please make sure that when you register your brand with Amazon Brand Registry, you sign in to the Brand Registry portal using your seller account username and password, so that during the registration process, you’ll have the opportunity to select the corresponding seller account. See the image below:
② You have completed Amazon Brand Registry. There are two methods:
· As mentioned above, apply through the “Brand Benefits Eligibility” page;
· Contact Seller Support to request access to a brand-building tool (for example, Amazon Brand Analytics or Vine).
Step 1: Sign in to the seller account for the brand-building tool you’re applying to use.
Step 2: Contact Seller Support and clearly specify in the case the brand name you are applying for and the name of the specific brand-building tool you are applying for.
Step 3: Seller Support will review your request according to the relevant compliance policy procedures and inform you of the review result by email.
Recently, we’ve also received many messages from new sellers, and even from people who haven’t started selling yet. Many are still unsure about the timing of opening a store, applying for a trademark, and Brand Registry.
❓ Q1: We’re just getting started on Amazon. Can we register a store first and then apply for a trademark?
Yes, but if you want to start enjoying the benefits in the Starter Pack for beginner sellers and start using brand-owner-exclusive tools earlier, we recommend that you apply for a trademark even before you start registering your store.
About 1 month after submitting a trademark application (timing varies slightly by trademark office and country/region), you can receive the trademark filing receipt (that is, the TM mark). This way, once your store registration is complete, you can immediately start Amazon Brand Registry with the TM mark. Register your trademark early, get the benefits early!
❓ Q2: I don’t have a brand yet. Can I list products first and complete Brand Registry later, after I get the brand?
That's OK too!However, when sellers list products and create Listing, they’ll find that they need to enter a brand name. If the product truly does not have a brand name, you can simply select “This product has no brand name”;
If you have a brand name but haven’t applied for a trademark or completed Amazon Brand Registry yet, you can still apply for approval to sell under that brand name. However, we still recommend that sellers apply for trademarks and complete Brand Registry as soon as possible. Remember: you must complete Brand Registry within 6 months of listing your first sellable product to be eligible for the benefits in the Starter Pack.
❓ Q3: I have a domestic trademark. Can I directly register my brand with Amazon?
Sorry, you can’t.
Amazon Brand Registry only accepts trademarks issued by government trademark offices in the following countries/regions: the United States, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Australia, India, Japan, France, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Singapore, Spain, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, Egypt, Sweden, Poland, the EU, and the United Arab Emirates.
A trademark you register in China is protected by China’s trademark law, but not by trademark laws overseas. Doesn’t that make sense? We recommend that sellers apply for overseas trademarks as soon as possible!
❓ Q4: Where do I apply for a trademark?Can Amazon help me apply?How are fees charged?
For trademark applications, you can find a relevant law firm or service provider, or click this link to view relevant law firms in Amazon IP Accelerator.
After you obtain a trademark, enroll in Amazon Brand Registry. Amazon does not charge a fee.
❓ Q1: I completed the task. How do I claim the benefits?
After the seller completes the corresponding tasks, the corresponding benefits will be automatically credited or issued at the specified time. Different benefits are issued in different ways. For example, a rebate on that month's sales will be directly deducted from the Referral Fee the following month, while discounts and coupons for Vine products can be applied toward program fees (redeemable after April 15, 2022).
Some examples are provided below. Go to Seller Central for more details.
❓ Q2: Do I need to complete all tasks to receive benefits?
No. Eligible new sellers can receive corresponding benefits when they complete specified tasks.
For example, eligible brand owners can enjoy sales rebates, Vine, and Transparency program benefits; they do not have to be FBA sellers.
❓ Q3: How do I claim my 5% brand sales rebate?
Sales rebates will be issued monthly, and the amount equals 5% of eligible brand sales from the previous month.
It will appear on your payment statement as a credit against this month's referral fee. This credit won't expire.
❓ Q4: How do I redeem my Amazon Vine product offer?
After enrolling in the Amazon Vine program, eligible sellers will receive a $200 credit. These credits will be applied to the first $200 fee charged under the Amazon Vine program (if unused, they will expire after one year). The offer will be officially redeemed after April 15, 2022.
❓ Q5: How do I redeem my Transparency product offer?
After you enroll in the Transparency program, you will receive a $100 credit. These credits will offset the first $100 fee charged when registering ASINs in the program (if unused, they will expire after one year). Fees are charged per item.
❓ Q6: How do I redeem my Fulfillment by Amazon inbound fee discount?
▲Domestic inbound discount: New sellers using the Partnered Carrier program (PCP) will have their first $100 in shipping fees waived.
The discount will be applied to as many Amazon Partnered Carrier Program shipments as possible until the full $100 credit is used, and the unused portion will expire one year after you create your first Amazon Partnered Carrier Program shipment. This discount does not apply to sellers who have already received the international inbound discount below.
🔍Click this link to view the Partnered Carrier program (PCP)
▲International inbound discount: if a new seller uses Amazon Global Logistics Service to send inventory to an Amazon fulfillment center, they will receive a $200 credit.
This credit will be used to offset future fulfillment fees after the seller sends their first inventory, and any unused portion will expire one year from the date your first shipment using Amazon Global Logistics Service arrives at an Amazon fulfillment center. This discount does not apply to sellers who have already received the domestic inbound discount described above.

❓ Q7: How do I redeem my Amazon Sponsored Products ad discount voucher?
If you're just getting started with Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA), Amazon will provide you with up to $200 in Sponsored Products promotional clicks. When you enroll an Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) ASIN and launch a campaign with no end date, you'll receive your first $100.
When you promote a Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) ASIN for 30 days, you'll receive a second $100. Any unused promotional clicks will expire 30 days after they are issued. You can view your promotional clicks in "Campaign Manager."
*Note: This offer applies to sellers in the United States marketplace, Japan marketplace, United Kingdom marketplace, and Germany marketplace; for detailed terms on redeeming advertising benefits, go to the Seller Central page.
❓ Q8: How do I redeem Amazon coupon offers?
Eligible sellers will receive a $50 credit when they sign up for an Amazon coupon. These credits will offset the initial $50 fee charged when you create a coupon (and will expire after one year if unused). The offer will be granted after 04/15/2022.
