In this busy sales season, Amazon sincerely thanks our sellers and friends for their continued support and cooperation with Amazon in 2022. Earlier this year, Amazon expected everything to return to normal with the relaxation of COVID-19 prevention and control policies, but fuel prices and inflation have also put more pressure on it, and the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic still exist.

In order to better serve sales partners, Amazon invests heavily in people, technology, transportation, and infrastructure, continues to innovate, while continuously improving efficiency and optimizing cost management to provide you and buyers with high-value, high-quality services.

Today, Amazon would like to share with you the changes in the use of referral fees and Amazon Fulfilment fees for the Japanese marketplace that will be implemented starting in 2023. You can log in to Seller Central or check the email for more details~

Effective April 1, 2023, unless otherwise specified

Fulfillment fee

FBA Fulfillment fee:

✨ Amazon will subdivide the current “Standard Size Tier 2” into three tiers, as follows:

✨ All other Amazon Logistics delivery fees will remain the same

Amazon Logistics Light and Light Product Program Fees:

✨ The cost per item will increase by 15 yen

Amazon Logistics Returns Processing Fee:

✨ Amazon will eliminate this fee

Storage costs

Monthly storage fees (effective April 1, 2023):

✨ Rates for clothing and footwear products and oversized and oversized items will remain the same

✨ 10% increase in rates for other small items and standard-sized items

Overage Inventory Surcharge (effective April 15, 2023):

✨ Storage age between 271-365 days: An overage inventory surcharge of 6.096 yen per cubic decimetre per month will be charged

✨ Storage age is 366 days or more: Increase the surcharge for overage inventory to 23.570 yen per cubic decimetre per month

These changes will take effect for the April 15, 2023, aged inventory assessment date, and will be first charged on May 15, 2023. Amazon recommends that you check your overage inventory and take appropriate action on these products.

Clothing and accessories, shoes, bags, jewelry:

The current promotional rate will become the standard rate with no expiration date!

Clothing & Accessories:

A 12% referral fee is charged for the portion of the total sales price of each item up to 3,000 yen; an 8% referral fee is charged for the portion of the total sales price of each item over 3,000 yen.

Shoes & Bags:

A 12% referral fee is charged for the portion of the total sales price of each item up to 7,500 yen, and a 6% referral fee for the portion of the total sales price of each item over 7,500 yen.

Clothing & Accessories:

A 10% referral fee is charged for the portion of the total sales price of each item up to 10,000 yen; a 6% referral fee is charged for the portion of the total sales price of each item over 10,000 yen.

Other referral fees will remain unchanged

Effective March 1, 2023

The discount margin of the Amazon Logistics New Product Arrival Promotion Program in Japan will increase!

✨ Sales rebates on eligible new Amazon products will increase from an average of 5% to 10%.

✨ Amazon will also increase the number of products eligible for benefits and extend the period during which certain benefits within the program are applicable.

✨ Sales refunds will still apply to sellers who meet certain conditions.
