Despite these challenges, Amazon sellers have risen to the challenge, persevered, demonstrated great adaptability, and worked with Amazon to provide excellent service to buyers.

To better serve sellers, Amazon continues to invest heavily in people, technology, transportation, and infrastructure, continue to innovate, and strive to improve efficiency and optimize cost management to provide you and your buyers with high-value, high-quality services.

Today, Amazon would like to share with you the 2023 European Site Referral Fee and Amazon Logistics Fee changes that will be implemented on March 1, 2023 (UTC).

● Based on positive feedback from seller friends, Amazon will continue to offer current referral fee discounts for Amazon Logistics clothing and accessories products:

● Starting June 30, 2023, for sellers using Amazon's VAT calculation service, the referral fee percentage will be based on the list price of your products, rather than the total sales price paid by the buyer.

If you use the VAT calculation service, the total sales price paid by the buyer may differ from the list price of the item, depending on the type of transaction and the customer. You can check out examples on the Seller Central Help page.

💡 This change does not apply to promotions, including flash sales, vouchers or coupons, buy-one-get-one-free discounts, Amazon-funded discounts, and Prime exclusive discounts. For promotions, Amazon will continue to charge a referral fee based on the total sales price paid by the buyer.

● Amazon will reclassify certain product types into more appropriate product categories. This change may result in changes in the fees applicable to the product. For more information, go to the Fee Categories Guide.

Fulfillment fee

In 2022, Amazon Logistics fees increased fuel and inflation surcharges. At the time, it was only a temporary cost increase, but as the situation continues to change, these cost increases seem to persist, so Amazon will eliminate separate fuel and inflation surcharges and adjust Amazon Logistics standard rates to reflect this portion of the increased cost.

● To help you sell between the EU and the UK, Amazon will offer discounts on European delivery network fees between the EU (Germany, France, Italy, and Spain) and the UK for a period of one year.

● Amazon will use the greater of the unit weight or dimensional weight to determine the shipping weight for all package size classes. This update is similar to the changes made in 2022 when dimensional weight was introduced for all oversized products.

Storage costs

This year, the Amazon Logistics warehouse space used by some Amazon sellers exceeds the space Amazon expects to be able to better serve buyers, while reducing the space for other sellers to ship to Amazon fulfillment centers. As a result, Amazon Logistics storage fees will be updated to more appropriately reflect basic costs.

Monthly Inventory Storage Fees

Aged inventory surcharge

(Effective May 15, 2023, overage inventory assessment date)

Storage Utilization Surcharge

Amazon will charge a storage usage surcharge for sellers who store large amounts of inventory in fulfillment centers, where inventory volume is assessed based on the seller's recent weekly sales volume.

Inventory removal/disposal fees

Inventory removal and disposal fees will increase due to increased service costs. However, bulk clearance fees will remain the same. Seller friends are advised to actively use the Bulk Clearance Program to recover more inventory value.

These changes will help Amazon make more effective use of storage space and create more inventory for sellers who use space efficiently. Therefore, please check your overage inventory and take action on these products.

● Sales rebates for eligible new Amazon products will increase from an average of 5% to 10%. Refunds will still apply to sellers who meet specific conditions.

● Increase the number of products eligible for benefits and extend the period of application of certain benefits within the plan.
