Amazon German sellers, please pay attention

Amazon recommends that you compare the VAT registration confirmation issued by the German tax authority with the tax information you provided on Amazon Seller Central as soon as possible to ensure that the “company name” and “tax address” information for both are consistent. Here, Xiaobian has compiled several solutions to help you solve the problem of mismatched information.

1 Contact the appropriate German tax authority or your tax agent to provide updated information;
💡 You can find the contact details of the German tax authority by copying the following link to your browser:

💡 Tips:
Since it may take some time for the tax authorities to revise the information, it is recommended that you act as soon as possible.

2 Please provide feedback to Amazon as soon as your tax certificate update becomes effective.
Please provide relevant supporting documents, such as confirmation from the tax authority (English is recommended) via de-vat-number-appeals@amazon.com.

Please ensure that you only correct the incorrect information in Amazon Seller Central; this error may just be a name or address.

Please email de-vat-number-appeals@amazon.com (English recommended) describing your situation and include evidence (including, but not limited to, the Inland Revenue Department's communication with you) for further investigation by the Amazon team.
Please note
01 If you fail to comply within 60 days of first receiving notice
Your VAT registration number will be rejected and will no longer be used for VAT calculations and invoicing. For sellers who have signed up for VAT calculation services, a rejected VAT registration number will affect your tax calculations and may result in service suspension (if applicable). At the same time, Amazon will suspend your Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) service on your German site.
02 If you are a sole proprietor
If your VAT number is issued to an individual in a sole proprietorship, you will need to change the company name in the company information field to the name written on the VAT certificate or add the name of the person holding the VAT number (for example: Zhang San of Amazon Ltd.) to the company name.
