How exactly is multiple verification carried out in the US Consumer Notification Act?
July 7, 2023
Knock on the blackboard!
Recently, a number of sellers have received an email with the title “Action required to verify your information in accordance with the INFORMATION Consumer Act” (see figure below). The content of the email indicates that the seller needs to take appropriate action by June 8 to avoid payment interruptions. This measure applies to sellers who have received a Consumer Notice Act verification notice but have not taken any relevant action as of June 8, so they can continue to pay as long as you complete the verification in a timely manner. Seller accounts that have not yet been verified will be suspended when the new law comes into effect.
Xiaobian would like to remind all sellers that information verification will take some time, and sellers are requested to perform relevant verification as soon as possible based on the content of the email. If you are currently unable to take action due to system reasons, please contact the Amazon Account Status Support Team or the Amazon Seller Support team for help!(See below for details)

If verification of the Consumer Notification Act is required, Amazon will notify you through 3 channels: the “Account Status” page, the “Account Information” page, and email.
It is recommended that you:
Determine this by looking at the verification list on the “Account Status” page. Please note that the “Account Status” page has been updated!
How to access the “Account Status” page: Log in to Amazon Seller Central and click “Performance > Account Status”.
An example of the verification list on the Account Status page:
🔹 The “green check” indicates that you have completed the verification;
🔹 “Circle+blue hyperlink text” indicates that the verification has been triggered;
🔹 “Watch logo+blue hyperlink text” indicates that the verification is in progress;
🔹 “Circle+grey text” indicates that the verification has not yet been triggered.
Determine this by looking at the banner notification on the “Account Information” page.
Access to the “Account Information” page: Log in to Amazon Seller Central and click “Settings > Account Information”.
🔹 When you need to perform any verification, the following banner notification will appear on the “Account Information” page, prompting you to begin the process:
🔹 After you submit the relevant information, a banner will appear in the same location on the “Account Information” page, indicating that the data is being reviewed.
🔹 When your verification is complete, a banner will appear in the same location on the “Account Information” page, informing you that the verification result was successful or unsuccessful.
Determine by whether you have received an email notification under the Consumer Notification Act.
Amazon may send the seller an appropriate email before each verification is triggered and after the verification is completed. If you are unable to confirm due to too many emails, you can search using keywords such as “INFORMATION,” “CONSUMER ACT,” and “ID Verification.”
If for any reason one of the information provided cannot be verified, Amazon will notify you via email. Also, you will be able to re-verify in the same location on the “Account Information” page and the “Account Status” page.
Amazon will evaluate and provide feedback within 10 business days of submitting your application. Due to the tight schedule, we recommend that you carefully review the materials and try to pass the verification once and for all!
If you are unable to take action due to system reasons, please contact the Amazon Account Status Support Team or the Amazon Seller Support team for help!

The “Consumer Notification Act” requires sellers to complete the following 5 verifications. Xiaobian will answer the frequently asked questions that everyone has encountered during these verifications in turn.
1 Seller ID Verification
2 Bank card information verification

4 Phone number verification
5. Verification of tax information
💡 Q1: Can individual sellers be verified?
Yes. The verification portal for individual sellers opened on May 22.

The purpose of the Consumer Notification Act is to verify that information (such as phone numbers, business addresses, etc.) of current store operators is accurate. Please be sure to provide your most recent company information.
💡 Q3: I want to or have changed my account type (business/personal account), how should I submit information during this law verification?
The purpose of this Act is to verify the authenticity and validity of seller account information. Please provide current, true, and valid information in accordance with your account plan.
💡 Q4: If my ID is valid for a long time, how should I choose the expiration date?
You can choose the option given to be valid for the longest time.
💡 Q5: In the “Proof of Address” section, should I choose a bank account statement or a credit card statement?
Both are fine, as long as the address on this document proves the address of residence you entered on this page.
