Good news: New seller registration identity verification review times are back to normal!

We recently learned that some beginner sellers’ accounts had been waiting a long time during the “registration identity verification review” stage. To help beginner sellers start selling on Amazon more smoothly, after active coordination, the review time for this stage has now returned to normal!Within 2–5 business days after the video verification, you can log in to Seller Central to find out the identity verification result.

If you have completed video verification:

This includes sellers who have already been waiting for a long time. Please go to Seller Central promptly to check your latest review status. When you see the status shown below in Seller Central, it means that your identity verification, video verification, and address verification have all been approved, and your seller accounts have also been activated for the North America Marketplace (United States, Canada, and Mexico), Europe Marketplace (United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Poland, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Belgium), Japan Marketplace, Australia Marketplace, Singapore Marketplace, United Arab Emirates Marketplace, and Saudi Arabia Marketplace. Based on your actual business needs, go to the corresponding Marketplace (you can enable multiple Marketplaces at the same time), submit the additional materials required for that Marketplace, and start selling with your seller account.

If you haven't completed the qualification review process:

After you complete the information required to register as a seller, you will enter the qualification review stage. Amazon will require you to complete three reviews—identity verification, video verification, and address verification—to create a fair and compliant operating environment. We’ve prepared a detailed step-by-step guide for you, so let’s take a look at how to complete each step!

/Qualification Review Steps

Step1: identity verification

You need to follow the on-screen instructions to correctly submit color scans or photos of the front and back of the legal representative’s ID card or the passport personal information page, as well as the company’s business documents (such as a mainland business license), and wait for review.

Note:

1. The identity information must match the identity information of the legal representative or director on the business documents.

2.Currently, Amazon only accepts color photos or color scans of business documents and the legal representative’s ID card or passport (electronic business licenses for companies in mainland China are not currently accepted; only color photos or color scans of paper business licenses are accepted; electronic business documents for companies in Hong Kong and Taiwan are accepted), and the documents must be complete, clear, and legible. Do not upload screenshots or documents edited with photo-editing tools.

3.Please ensure that the company registered on your business license is active.

*The passport personal information page is only for sellers in Hong Kong or Taiwan

Step2: Video verification

You are now in the video verification step. Based on your needs, you can choose “instant video call” or “scheduled video call” to complete identity verification. Show your documents as instructed by the reviewer. This process is expected to take 20 minutes.

2.During video verification, Amazon staff may ask questions related to the company’s operations.

3.If you need to bring an assistant to participate in the video verification, please ensure:
1）At the start of the video verification, truthfully tell Amazon staff that you have an assistant with you;
2）The assistant must remain on camera with you throughout the video verification process;
3）Assistants may only provide help with translation, device setup, network settings, and similar support, and may not interfere with or answer any questions asked by Amazon staff during the video verification.

Step3: Address verification

You may be required to verify your address, and Amazon will verify the business address you provided during your previous registration.

Amazon conducts different types of reviews for sellers, and the reviews are triggered based on the Marketplace you choose to sell in. For example, tax information review for the US Marketplace and KYC review for the Europe Marketplace.

After receiving the email notification, sellers need to submit clear and complete relevant information and documents as requested in the email so that the review team can review them.

A. US Marketplace tax information review

The US tax information review is a self-service review process. You need to go to Amazon Seller Central to provide taxpayer identification information and complete your bank account information. Otherwise, buyers will not be able to see any products you create. For sellers who choose to sell in Amazon North America, please complete “Tax Interview” and “Bank Account Information Setup”.

Amazon will require sellers in the US Marketplace to reconfirm information such as beneficiary/corporate type and address.

Set up bank account information

In addition to completing the self-service tax interview process, you also need to complete the information for your bank deposit account. You must specify a bank account in your seller account before you can receive payments.

B. European Marketplace KYC review

Under European law, if sellers sell or continue selling in the Amazon European marketplaces and earn transaction proceeds, they must provide Amazon with detailed company and personal information as part of seller verification (Know Your Customer, KYC). Previously, before launching on Amazon Europe, sellers had to submit multiple company and personal documents for review. Now that the process has been simplified, most sellers can switch to Amazon Europe in Seller Central after completing registration and the basic qualification review to start selling, and, after completing beneficiary information, without submitting any additional materials, they can pass the simplified review and immediately start selling on Amazon Europe. The review time, which may have taken a few weeks, will be drastically reduced.

C. Sellers in other Marketplaces can go directly to "Seller Central," sign in to the Marketplace they want to sell in, create listings, and start selling.

Account review may be triggered again after you complete Amazon registration. Sellers need to submit clear, relevant information and documents as required so that the review team can conduct an “account review.” However, this is not an inevitable procedure, and not every seller is required to conduct an account review!

Please pay attention to the information required for account review (utility bills relating to any of your water, electricity, gas/gas, or internet services within 90 days with the name of your company or legal representative address corresponding to the seller's address) and be prepared.
