Actions prohibited by sellers

(Version updated to April 6, 2017)
Please refer to the original sales policy on the local site. The Chinese translation is for reference only.
These “prohibited seller actions” are designed to maintain the safety of sales services for buyers and the fairness of sellers selling products and services. If sellers do not comply with the terms of this policy, Amazon may ban them from listing products, suspend their use of Amazon tools and reports, and/or remove their selling privileges.
Note: The relevant policies described in this guide are in addition to, and do not limit in any way, your other obligations under seller agreements or other documents.

1. Using multiple seller accounts: Operating and holding multiple Seller Central accounts is prohibited. If you have a legitimate business and need to apply for a second account, you can apply for a policy exemption:
● Go to Contact Us.
● Click “I want to open a store”, then select “My Account” and then “Other Account Questions”.
In your application, please indicate your legitimate business requirements for a second account. To get approved:
● Each of your Seller Central accounts must have separate bank accounts. If multiple Seller Central accounts use the same bank account in the same region, we won't approve it. If you sell in different regions (for example, North America and Europe), then you can use the same bank account as long as your Seller Central accounts are linked through Amazon Global Selling. ● Each account must use a separate email address.
● The products and services sold in each account must be different.
● Your performance metrics must be outstanding.
If you are restricted from selling some or all of your products by sellers themselves, you can switch the shipping method for these products to Fulfilment by Amazon and then continue listing these products. On the “Manage Inventory” page, products in your inventory that are not allowed to be listed as sellers' own fulfillment will be marked with a yellow icon in the leftmost column. To convert your products to FBA, follow the instructions on how to list products that are shipped through FBA.
● [Ratings and Feedback:] Buyers can evaluate the seller's overall performance through ratings and feedback features to help the seller build their reputation on the Amazon Marketplace. Don't post abusive or inappropriate feedback, and don't include personal information about trading partners. This also includes not being able to post ratings or feedback on your own account. You can request feedback from buyers, but you cannot induce buyers to provide or remove feedback
● [Review:] Reviews play a critical role in the Amazon Marketplace. Buyers can provide feedback on product/service information and experiences (whether positive or negative) on the product/service in the review platform. Don't comment on products or services that have a financial interest, including those sold by you or your competitors. Additionally, reviews (including free or discounted products) must not be compensated. Review solicitations that ask for only positive reviews or offer compensation are prohibited. Buyers must not be asked to edit or remove reviews.
2. Misuse of sales rankings: The best-seller ranking feature helps customers evaluate the popularity of products. Any attempt to manipulate sales rank is prohibited. You should not solicit or knowingly accept fake or fraudulent orders, including placing orders for your own products. You cannot provide compensation to buyers for purchasing your products or provide claim codes to buyers for the purpose of inflating sales rank. In addition, you should not make claims regarding a product’s best seller rank in the product detail page information, including the title and description.

3. Misuse of search and browsing: When customers use Amazon's search engine and browsing structure, they want to find relevant and accurate results. All information relating to the product, including keywords and search terms, must comply with the guidelines provided in Optimizing Product Information for Search and Browsing. Any attempt to manipulate the search and browsing experience is prohibited.

4. Attempting to divert transactions or buyers: Any attempt to circumvent established Amazon sales processes or transfer Amazon users to another website or sales process is prohibited. Specifically, the use of any advertising, marketing information (special offers), or “calls to buy” to guide, prompt, or encourage Amazon users to leave the Amazon site is prohibited. This includes using an email or including a hyperlink, URL, or web address in any seller-generated confirmation email message or any product/product description field.

5. Provide a direct email address: Buyers and sellers can communicate with each other through the Buyer-Seller Messaging Service.

6. Improper email communications: Unsolicited email messaging to Amazon buyers (email communications relating to order delivery and related customer service when necessary) and marketing-related email communications of any kind are prohibited.

7. Properly handle customer phone numbers: Amazon provides professional sellers who ship their orders themselves with permission to use the buyer's phone number so they can comply with carrier labeling requirements. If you receive this buyer information, you are required to comply with Amazon's Customer Personal Information Policy, which is included in our seller agreement. Please review the relevant policies and guidelines below to ensure that you are using your buyer's phone number correctly.
● Properly handle buyer phone numbers:
○ Print on the label to meet carrier requirements.
○ Any customer phone number must not be kept after the buyer's order has been processed.
○ Monitor everyone in your organization who has access to the buyer's phone number; it is your responsibility to keep this data secure.
● Improper handling of buyer phone numbers:
○ You cannot use the customer phone number to contact the buyer. When contacting a buyer about a buyer's order, it is only possible to communicate through buyer-seller messages. For more information, see our Common Buyer-Seller Messaging Issues. ○ Buyers' phone numbers cannot be shared with outside parties.
○ Buyer information (including phone numbers) of any type other than “Buyer-Seller Messaging” may not be delivered.
8. Unauthorized and incorrect business name: The business name (which identifies your business entity on Amazon) must meet the following requirements: it can accurately identify you; it must not be misleading; and you have the right to use the name (that is, the name must not include another person's trademark or infringe any trademark or other intellectual property right of another person). Additionally, you must not use a business name that includes an email suffix (such as.com, .net, .biz, etc.).

9. Misuse of selling services on Amazon: If you repeatedly upload large amounts of data, or otherwise use the service excessively or unreasonably, Amazon may, in its sole discretion, restrict or block your access to product data uploads or any other feature that is being misused until you cease such misuse.

10. Misuse of the Amazon Marketplace Transaction Guarantee: Any misuse of the Amazon Marketplace Transaction Guarantee claim process is prohibited. Sellers who have received too many Amazon Marketplace Transaction Guarantee claims or the total amount may have their selling privileges terminated. If the buyer is not satisfied with the product or service, they can contact the seller to arrange a refund, return, or exchange at their discretion. If Amazon reimburses the buyer in accordance with the Amazon Marketplace Transaction Guarantee, Amazon has the right to seek compensation from the seller.

11. Delivery of media products (books, music, video): Media products (books, music, video) offered through Amazon must be delivered within two business days of providing you with an order confirmation.
12. Altering prices and setting excessively high shipping costs after a transaction: Any attempt to increase the sales price of a product after the transaction is completed is prohibited. Additionally, sellers cannot set excessive order fulfilment and shipping costs.

13. Does not match actual product information: When listing a product for sale using an existing product detail page, the selected product detail page must accurately describe the product in all aspects, including (but not limited to) the following attributes: manufacturer, edition, bundle, version, format, or player compatibility. Sellers are not allowed to match their products to detail pages with a different ISBN, UPC, EAN, or other external identifier. Sellers are not allowed to match their products to detail pages with a different ISBN, UPC, EAN, or other external identifier.

Exception: The club version of the audio CD and the rental version of the DVD and Blu-ray disc should be listed on the detail page of the standard CD, DVD, or Blu-ray edition, even if the UPC of the two versions is different, if the following criteria are met:
● Club editions or rental editions are published in a “used” condition;
● The content of the two editions is exactly the same; and
● There is no UPC page with this club edition or rental edition in our catalog yet. Use the listing comments to indicate that the item is a club edition. Format of the products (CD, DVD, Blu-ray) must be identical.
● Use the product information notes to indicate whether the product is a club edition or a rental edition.
14. Creating duplicate product detail pages: Creating product detail pages for products that already exist in the Amazon catalog is prohibited.

15. Create separate listings: Sellers may not create another listing for the exact same product.

16. Pre-sale media products (books, music, video, TV): Sellers are not allowed to list or compete with media products (books, music, video) that Amazon has designated as pre-orderable. Media products (books, music, video) offered through Amazon must be shipped within two business days of providing you with an order confirmation.
