What’s the difference between the “Take Your Face Photo” and “Record Your Face Video” features?
If you choose to “take your face photo,” Amazon will use facial recognition technology to complete your identity verification; if you choose to “record your face video,” an Amazon employee will review the video to verify your identity.
Please note that neither of these verification methods requires appointment. However, if you choose “Take Your Face Photo”, your review process will be faster and more efficient because “Record Your Face Video” requires review by an Amazon employee.
Please note that neither of these verification methods requires appointment. However, if you choose “Take Your Face Photo”, your review process will be faster and more efficient because “Record Your Face Video” requires review by an Amazon employee.
While using the “Record Your Face Video” or “Submit Your Face Photo” feature, is the photo or video required to be taken by the company’s legal representative?
It can be either the legal representative or the company contact. However, Amazon recommends that the legal representatives take the photo themselves, because this can improve the efficiency of your verification.
If the company’s legal representative is unable to take verification in person, they can authorize someone else to complete the “record face video” or “take face photo” verification. After the authorized person completes the “Record your face video” or “take your face photo” verification, they need to log back in to Seller Central after 2 business days, then click the “Use Video Call Verification” button. This option requires them to schedule an identity verification appointment and, and at the scheduled time, complete the online video verification by video call with an Amazon employee.
Please ensure that the authorized person has their own ID and the ID of the legal representative ready.

- Your device has a front-facing camera that works properly.
- Your Internet connection is stable and reliable.
If the photo or the video taken during the verification process has a low resolution, you will receive a system message and need to try verification again.

I accidentally left the “Record your face video” or “Take your face photo” page during the verification process. Can I log back in to continue verification?
Yes. You can sign in again and start recording a new video and taking a new photo. Be sure to sign in with the same email and password you used to sign up for your Seller Central account. If you see “Select merchant and marketplace”-“Select account” after you sign in, no matter which Amazon Marketplace you choose to sell in, you must click “United States,” and then you can continue with verification.
How many attempts do I have to record “face video” or take “face photo”?What should I do if recording photos and videos or uploading photos and videos always fails?
You have up to 2 chances to record a video or 3 chances to take a photo. If verification is still unsuccessful after multiple attempts, Amazon staff will review the details of the videos or photos you have already recorded or taken and may ask you to meet additional verification requirements.
How do I switch between the “Record Face Video” and “Take Face Photo” features?
On the “Seller Central - Identity Verification Selection” page, you can choose “Record you face video” or “Take your face ” to complete identity verification. During a “Record Face Video” or “Take a Face Photo” session, you can close the session at any time and return to the identity verification selection page to start over.
After submitting my identity verification information, the registration screen keeps showing “We have received your information and will contact you within 2 business days for further clarification. ”What does this mean?
This means that Amazon’s review team is reviewing the registered Amazon seller account. Please wait for the review result patiently.
How do I know I've passed verification?
Once the verification is completed, Amazon will notify you of the progress by email. If you receive an email stating “Your account information has been verified and you can now log in to Seller Central to continue”, then you have successfully completed the Amazon seller account qualification review!
My first account registration was unsuccessful. If I want to use the same set of documents (business license) to register again, can I improve my chances of approval by changing to new email address, registration channel, or registration time?
The registration email address, registration channel, and registration time are not related to the approval. Amazon applies the same verification requirements to all registration applications. And Amazon will continue to optimize its review policies and processes to better support compliant sellers to pass verification smoothly and efficiently, while ensuring the strictest standards against misconduct.
Failure to register an account does not necessarily mean that you cannot continue to register using this set of documents. If the failure is due to incorrect information entered during registration (such as the company location), you can continue to register using your current documents. We recommend that you contact Amazon Seller Support first through self-service appeal to understand the specific reason of the registration failure, and avoid trying to register again too quickly.

During the qualification review, I found that the photos taken with my computer’s camera were unclear, so I switched from my computer to my phone to complete the verification. However, I was worried that switching devices during registration might affect my account verification and lead to the registration failure.
Using different devices during the registration process won't affect the registration process; the key point is to ensure that the devices you use provide clear photos/videos. If you find that your computer’s camera does not capture clear images during the qualification review process, you can use a mobile phone with a higher-resolution camera to ensure photo/video quality. This can help Amazon verify the information you provided more quickly and accurately.
Please note that while submitting your ID, you must provide complete, clear, and legible photos or color scan copies: no missing corners, no black and white copies, no screenshots, and no processing the file by Meitu tools such as PS or Meitu Xiuxiu before upload.
Please also note the following requirements while taking the photo: make sure there is enough light, and avoid backlighting from a window or other bright light source; if your government-issued IDs are blurry, please slowly adjust the position until the image is clearly in focus; the barcode may not match your ID, so make sure the document stays within the frame.

The authority in my region no longer issues paper business licenses and only issues electronic business licenses, so how should I show my electronic business license during the qualification review?
You can download and save your electronic business license to your laptop or mobile phone in advance, and when you’re asked to show your business license during the qualification review, please display the photo of your electronic business license to the camera on your mobile device. Please ensure that all information on the business license is fully displayed on the device screen, without missing any corners, and that the screen is bright enough and clearly visible.
Want to know whether Amazon has age requirements for the legal representative?
Amazon requires sellers to be at least 18 years old. Besides that, Amazon has no age restrictions on registration.
Will the business scope and registered capital on the business license affect the result of my seller verification review?
Amazon has no hard requirements for the business scope or registered capital for your business license. In the SIV review process, Amazon usually considers the information provided by the seller and does not rely on a single reason alone to make decisions. However, in the long run, Amazon recommends that the business scope you filled in to be as consistent as possible with the categories you plan to sell on Amazon.
North America Marketplace Tax Review
What is the tax review process when registering for the Amazon North America Marketplace?
The US tax review is a self-service review process that guides you through entering your taxpayer identification information and verifying your W-9 or W-8BEN tax information. Chinese sellers also need to complete this review process to finish the registration process.
Do I have to provide my tax ID information?
After you complete registration, Amazon will require professional sellers to provide their taxpayer identification information. Please follow the system instructions to fill in your taxpayer identification information.
Can the US Marketplace tax review be skipped?

Do sellers in the Canada Marketplace need to register for a GST (Federal Goods and Services Tax) tax ID?
Except for Canadian domestic companies, Chinese legal entities operating in the Canada Marketplace do not need to register for a tax ID, and Amazon will withdraw the taxes on their behalf.
European Marketplace KYC review
I’ve currently registered for a total of 14 Marketplaces. If KYC is triggered for the Europe Marketplace, do I need to do anything about it? If I don’t, will it affect the Marketplaces I’m currently operating in?
In general, if you do not need to operate in the European Marketplace, not completing the KYC review will not affect operations in other Marketplaces; if you need to sell or continue selling in the European Marketplace and receive transaction proceeds, you must pass the KYC review.
What is the difference between KYC verification and secondary review?
KYC review is a qualification review for sellers who sell on Amazon Europe Marketplace. Sellers need to provide information about themselves and their business to ensure compliant selling.
Depending on each seller’s specific circumstance, the conditions that trigger KYC review are not always the same and generally fall into three categories:
The first condition is that after most sellers complete registration and identity verification, they fill in information Seller Central for the European Marketplace, and once they confirm that they have added all beneficiary information, KYC review is triggered immediately;
The second condition is that after some sellers start selling, when their store account payments reach a certain threshold, they need to provide more information for review.
The third condition is when your store account payments reach a certain threshold after start selling. If sellers did not trigger a full KYC review before starting sales, they will also need to provide more information for review when the store account’s disbursements receivable payment reaches a certain threshold after they start selling. During the review process, if your receivable payment has not yet reached a certain threshold, your stores can still sell as usual. However, if your receivable payment reaches a certain threshold and you still have not passed the review, you may face sales restrictions until you pass the review, reactivate your store, and restart sales.
The account review triggered after completing Amazon registration is referred to by many cross-border sellers as a “secondary review.” This is a review process where Amazon may suspend some sellers' accounts and request more information in order to help maintain a trustworthy marketplace for buyers and sellers. This usually happens when an account is suspended and needs to be reactivated. Sellers need to submit clear and complete materials and documents as required so that the review team can conduct “account review.” However, this is not a mandatory process, and not every seller will be required to undergo such an account review!
Reminder: If you encounter a second review and KYC review at the same time, please appeal the second review first, and appeal the KYC review only after the second review is succeeded.

Is there anything special to pay attention to during the KYC review process?
While verifying and supplementing identity information, please fill it out accurately, and do not enter anything incorrectly or miss anything. After the review is approved, unless necessary, please do not make changes to the information in your seller account at will. Any changes could re-trigger re-verification.

The documents each seller needs to provide depend on the marketplaces. For specific requirements, please check the email notification or log in to the seller platform and go to Settings → Identity Information, to see which documents are required. Why do I need to provide certificate of authorization?
When you open a seller account with Amazon EU or Amazon Payments UK, you register yourself as the point of contact (POC) for that account. As a POC, you may or may not be authorized to open an account on behalf of your registered business. When you fill in your information (such as POC), this permission will be notified, and you’ll see a box at the bottom that says “I am also the legal representative of this business.” If you check this box, it means that you are authorized to manage and disburse funds in the payment account on behalf of the business. For example, you are the beneficial owner of the business, the chief financial officer, or hold a similar senior position within the company. If you do not have this authority, you will need to provide a letter of authorization. A person who has the authority to open and manage the account on behalf of the registered business entity can use the letter of authorization to authorize you to manage the account on his behalf.

Account Reviews
Under what conditions will an “account review” be triggered?
An “account review” is triggered when Amazon suspends some sellers’ accounts before they start selling and requests more information for review, to help sellers and buyers maintain a trustworthy marketplace. Not every seller will need to take an “account review,” and the specific requirements for the review will vary depending on each seller's actual conditions and sites. Sellers who are required to undergo an “account review” need to submit clear and relevant information and documents based on the email content or the requirements in the Performance Notifications, so that the review team can conduct account review.
What should I do if I am asked to take an “account review”?
If “account review” is triggered for your account, you can get relevant information through email notifications, performance notifications in Seller Central, and other channels. If you are asked to take an “account review,” we recommend that you first follow the steps below to submit an appeal by yourself:
• Path 1 for appeals: Seller Central -> Performance -> Account Health -> Reactivate Your Account
• Path 2 for appeals : Seller Central -> Performance Notifications -> Appeal -> Wrong deactivation -> Add documents to submit materials for appeal
*Please note that before submitting an appeal, you need to first check whether your credit/debit card is valid. After confirming, submit your appeal. Please prepare the relevant materials according to the Performance Notifications.

How many chances do I have to pass “Account review”?What should I do if I consumed my “account review” chances?
Amazon’s “Account Review” does not have a limit on the number of appeals. However, please note that each appeal should be improved based on the feedback from the Amazon review team on why the previous appeals were unsuccessful. Amazon recommends that you avoid repeatedly submitting the same materials and ensure that each appeal includes updated or additional evidence (such as the latest bills or new relevant documents) to make the appeal more persuasive. If every time you submit the same materials, it not only won’t enhance the appeals’ chances of success, but may also cause the appeal to be rejected.
Will the “Account Review” be triggered repeatedly? If I passed the first time, will it never be triggered again?
It may be triggered again, but this depends on the sellers’ actual conditions. Therefore, maintaining good seller behaviors and complying with Amazon’s policies are key to avoid another review. We recommend you to be cautious during the registration process:
• We recommend to use a stable, dedicated network connection. Do not use VPN/VPS/Super Browser
• Make sure that the information submitted for registration and displayed on the seller platform matches the information of the company you actually own. Never confuse the information of the legal representative with the actual operator’s identity, or the actual business address
• Be sure contact information (email address and phone number) of your business is up to date so Amazon can contact you if necessary
• The credit/debit cards submitted for payment and settlement in Seller Central must be valid and chargeable. We recommend to use the legal representative’s credit/debit cards, and keeping your bank account information up to date
• While signing up, make sure you can submit utility bills with the address same as the address on the seller platform
• We recommend you to keep your purchase invoices. If you’re asked to go through a review or apply for a category later in your following up business operation, you may be required to provide the corresponding purchase invoices

Why didn’t my authentic documents get passed?
If the submitted materials were not approved, possible reasons may include:
• The bill photos are unclear and cropped, with missing edges or corners
• Names and addresses are obscured or invisible
• Missing key information prevents from effectively matching with the information in seller platform records
If none of the above issues exist, then the account itself may have risk factors. If the review fails, you should promptly reviewed and updated the submitted materials, and seek for professional advices if necessary to ensure that all Amazon requirements and standards are met.

Do the requirements for "account review" vary by marketplaces?
You still need to meet the specific requirements based on the steps and materials stated in the Performance Notifications. In most cases, most marketplaces require utility or Internet bills, but Amazon Europe also accepts bank credit card/debit card statements or other bank credit certificates as supporting documents for address verification. For other marketplaces, please follow the instructions on the “Reactivate Your Account” page in Seller Central to prepare your documents and complete the required steps.

Are there any sample templates for utility bills for “Account Review”?
Because the information required varies for different Marketplaces or sellers, Amazon can’t provide specific bill templates. Please prepare documents according to the information requirements in the email or performance notice. Generally, you can view the information at the location of your legal representative or company and the utility provider you use. You can log in to the official websites, service platform, or mobile APPs of the relevant utility providers to view and download the corresponding bills. The name on the bills must show full name of the legal representative or the name on the company’s business license. The address must show the full residential address of the legal representative, the address on the company’s business license, or the actual business address, and it must match the address on the seller platforms. The bills need to show breakdown of charges within the past 90 days.
I don't have bills, can I use invoices instead?
We recommend providing bills first, because invoices may sometimes be considered as invalid documents. If you can’t provide bills and can only provide invoices, please make sure they are VAT invoices, and we recommend attaching screen-shots to verifying the invoices’ authenticity.
