What Is POA, and What Is It Used For
To help sellers grow their business sustainably, Amazon requires selling partners to follow Amazon’s Code of Conduct when selling products on Amazon, meet performance standards, and provide consumers with a safe and healthy shopping environment. Otherwise, the seller’s account may be at risk of deactivation, or their listings may be at risk of deactivation. When a listing is deactivated or an account is suspended, the seller can submit a Plan of Action, or POA, to Amazon to request that the listing be reinstated or the account’s selling privileges be restored.
An effective Plan of Action can not only help sellers reactivate their accounts, but also prompt them to review and optimize their daily operations and streamline internal management practices. Only then can sellers grow sustainably and increase sales on Amazon. Therefore, learning how to write a Plan of Action (POA) is also very important. Today, we’ll walk beginner sellers through how to write an Amazon Plan of Action (POA), what questions it needs to answer, and what key points to keep in mind when writing it.
What questions should an effective Plan of Action (POA) answer
Now that you know what an Amazon Plan of Action (POA) is, how do you write one?An effective Amazon Plan of Action (POA) should answer at least the following questions:
● The root cause of the problem—what happened in the past that caused the problem?
● Current solution—what actions have you taken to solve the problem or stop it from getting worse?
● Preventive measures for the future—what actions will you take to prevent this problem from happening again?
Be sure to write the appropriate content according to the three-section structure of the action plan; otherwise, important information may be missed.
How to write a Plan of Action (POA): three key points
Point 1: Make full use of Amazon's resources and dig deep into the root cause of the violation
First, sellers can use performance notifications to understand the reasons for violations and identify the appeal channel. When an account is under review, permissions are removed, or listings are deactivated, sellers will receive a performance notification that includes: why? What to do next? How do I send the required information?
Second, sellers can use the Account Health page to understand their performance status and confirm violations (Performance → Account Health). Account Health mainly includes three sections: customer service performance, policy compliance, and shipping performance.
We recommend that sellers follow these three steps to identify the root cause of violations:
1) Review the performance notification to identify why the account was reviewed
2) Download the relevant report to identify defect orders
3) In the Plan of Action, clearly explain that the account was reviewed because of the Order Defect Rate, list all or some of the defective orders, and analyze the reasons behind them (if there are many orders, you can list them in Excel and submit it as an attachment)
Key point 2: analyze and write based on your company’s actual situation
When writing an Amazon Plan of Action (POA), sellers must write it themselves based on their current actual situation, and must not copy any content from other plans. Sellers can use the six Ws and one H (who, what, when, where, why, and how) to analyze and write.
Point 3: Strengthen specificity and relevance
When writing an Amazon Plan of Action (POA), you also need to ensure it is specific and relevant:
It should address the reason this product or account was reviewed;
A preventive action plan should be proposed to address the root causes above, and sellers are not advised to list unrelated solutions.

The above is an introduction to Amazon Action Plan POA and a summary of the three main points for writing it. We remind sellers that when writing a POA, avoid shifting responsibility, using emotional language, or including overly long and unfocused content. In the action plan, you should take responsibility where appropriate, emphasize facts and solutions, and keep the structure clear and the level of detail appropriate.
