Help you understand what Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfilment (MCF) is and how to manage returns for MCF orders?

Amazon multi-channel delivery, or MCF for short, is an omni-channel logistics service provided by Amazon's overall supply chain solutions. With multi-channel fulfillment, sellers can use their inventory in Amazon fulfillment centers to fulfill orders from sales channels other than Amazon, such as the seller's brand-independent website, other third-party e-commerce sites, etc.
Since Amazon sellers already have inventory in Amazon fulfillment centers, after signing up for the Multi-Channel Fulfilment (MCF) service, sellers can consolidate inventory and uniformly send multi-channel inventory to Amazon fulfillment centers without managing multiple warehouses for different sales channels. This allows sellers to have a single inventory pool of “Amazon+Other Sales Channels.” Sellers not only save operating costs by reducing the number of shipments to Amazon fulfillment centers, but are also exempt from managing delivery and returns in multiple channel systems to centralize the management of multi-channel orders and return services, thereby saving a lot of time.

More than just delivery—MCF can handle returns for you too!
For products using Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA), sellers do not need to process customer returns. After initiating a return on Amazon, customers only need to follow the instructions to return the item, and the Amazon fulfillment center will process the evaluation and warehousing of the shipment. Sellers have peace of mind and effort.
However, in addition to selling on Amazon, sellers also often sell products through other channels (such as other e-commerce websites, independent brand websites, etc.). In this case, sellers need to handle customer returns from different sales channels separately. How can they easily enjoy a “painless” return experience like FBA across all sales channels?
Sellers using Multi-Channel Fulfilment (MCF) can directly use inventory in Amazon Fulfilment Centers (FC) to fulfill omni-channel orders. And get the same quality return service as FBA!
How to manage returns for MCF orders?
Items fulfilled through MCF can be returned to Amazon fulfillment centers. You can choose to return items to fulfillment centers, or follow your existing returns process.
When a customer contacts you to initiate a return, you can ask the customer to ship the return to Amazon. You can add this return to your Amazon inventory by choosing to return the item to Amazon.
To initiate a return to Amazon, follow these steps on your Amazon Seller Central page:
01 Go to “Manage Orders”
02 In the search box, enter the Multi-Channel Fulfilment order ID and click “Search”
03 Click on the Order ID link in the Order Details column
04 On the Multi-Channel Fulfilment order details page, click “Returns”
05 Select the return quantity of the item the buyer would like to return
06 Reasons for returning the specified item
The system will then generate a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) form. The form contains the following two sections:
- Return mailing label:
This label contains the address of the fulfillment center that will receive and process the returned item. Ask the buyer to place the label on their return package.

*Note: Return mailing letters do not include postage. You or the customer are responsible for purchasing and producing the return label.
- Return Authorization Form:
This form includes the barcode and product description of the item being returned. The slip must be included inside the return package alongside the items.

When a return is received at a fulfillment center, our associates validate the state of the product. If it’s deemed to be in a sellable condition, we add the unit back to your Amazon inventory. If the condition of the item is “unsellable,” you must follow our removal procedure to receive the defective item. For more information, see Remove as required.
It may take up to 7 days to process the return and incorporate the unit into your inventory once the unit is delivered to a fulfillment center.
Once you have initiated the return, please click “Return Status” on the Multi-Channel Fulfilment order details page for information about the return. You can also view this information in the Amazon Logistics Customer Returns Report. On this page, enter the Multi-Channel Fulfilment order ID in the Amazon Order ID field and select Last 365 days from the Event Date drop-down menu. The report will show if the return has been received by Amazon and the disposition of the item.
In some cases, a unit may be returned to a fulfillment center by the carrier. There are various reasons why this might occur, such as when an item was damaged during transit, an item was undeliverable due to an incorrect address, or the buyer refused delivery. In these cases, it may take up to seven days from the last tracking update to add the returned units back to your inventory.
